Dublin Region Water Supply Project | Lough Boora Parklands | As the long term population in Ireland continues to grow, especially in the Dublin and Mid East regions, new water supply infrastructure is needed to support existing and future populations. Bord na Móna and Dublin City Council are working together to address this national resource issue. Their proposal, which is expected to be put to city councillors, involves piping water from one of the Shannon lakes to a reservoir in the midlands for storage, from where it would be piped to Dublin.
