Resource Recovery
Bord na Mona's Resource Recovery business is maximising how it recovers value
from waste material in a sustainable, environmental and commercial fashion.
This has required ongoing investment in logistics, customer education,
training and service, material separation technologies and in those
technologies that alter the fundamental use of waste materials where this
becomes a necessary step in recovery.
These investments have enhanced our ability to extract recoverable
materials from general and mixed dry recyclable waste streams.
By recognising that the point of waste generation is usually the most
effective place to segregate waste, the company has also continued the roll
out of brown bins to domestic customers.
AES, Bord na Mona's waste managment company, has been carrying out
electronic tagging of our bins allowing for more effective logisitics and
customer service and facilitating the "polluter pays" billing
