RECYCLING Open to Public Competition
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Bord na Mona Recycling Navan depot, waste transfer, container repair site and processing activities. Working with the wider operations team and support functions within Bord na Mona Recycling, this role will assist that financial, operational efficiency and productivity, fleet, cost control, safety, and environmental compliance targets are achieved for the Navan depots.

The Role:
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
• Lead responsible for processing and operatives on site, loading, shredder, 3rd party tipping etc. Assist & support yard supervisor in all aspects of their roles, incorporating scheduling of work rotas for all operatives to ensure that logistics, operational needs are met
• Management of waste processing of material on site. Direct incoming waste to the correct tipping areas. Ensuring that all waste streams are processed and managed through correct process to maximise landfill diversion. Ensuring that sheds are always clean and tidy. Reporting on incoming material and related supporting documentation, e.g. photos and feed back.
• Ensuring that daily check lists are completed and managed for plant and equipment.
• Ownership of key controls at the depot. Including operational H&S controls, compliance, Bin stock management – weekly bin stock counts, Bin storage, damaged bin management. Identify and organise skip / container issues on site
• Ensure safe practices of work are in place and adhered to incorporating weekly safety walks into your activity and report issues to Yard supervisor. Responsible for Yard maintenance & housekeeping
• Working with the Environmental Compliance and H&S functions; ensure the in shed operations are within the terms of its licence or permit. You will facilitate audits from external regulators such as the EPA, Local Authorities, HSA, NSAI etc and ensure that all actions arising are closed out in a timely manner. Working with ethe relevant support functions across the business, ensure that employees working across the depot are fully trained for their roles.
• Working closely with the H&S team; create and embed a safe working environment at the depot. Ensuring all staff and contractors working in the processing sheds have the appropriate level of training and equipment to carry out their roles in a safe manner. Ensure the waste processing machines at your depot are adequately maintained and serviced. You will lead by example and set the standard for safety at your depot.
• Lead and Performance Manage your direct report(s). Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s objectives.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in running a similar scale depot / operations function.
• Digger, 360 Licence experience desirable, training provided.
• Forklift, Loader experience desirable
• Manual Handling & Safe Pass an advantage
• Must be flexible to work across different work sections within the business.
• Proficiency in the English language required
• Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
