BnM has the need for a Project Manager. The Project Manager will support
the planning, delivery, and commercial management of renewable energy and
associated grid infrastructure in addition to battery storage systems and grid
supporting technology solutions. The successful candidate will also work on a
strategic grid plan which will enable our diverse portfolio of projects to
connect to the electricity transmission grid in a timely and efficient manner,
unlocking commercial value and opportunities for the organisation.
The role will bridge technical, commercial, and project delivery
functions to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned
with company strategy. This is a development role for an ambitious professional
looking to build a career in renewable energy project management,
infrastructure delivery, and emerging energy technologies.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
- Project Coordination & Delivery: Support the end-to-end delivery of renewable energy infrastructure projects including grid, civils, and technology elements.
Coordinate project schedules, milestones, and risk registers to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
Support the preparation of project execution plans, status reports, and progress dashboards.
Assist in managing interfaces between development, technical, and construction teams. - Commercial & Financial Management: Assist in developing and maintaining project budgets, forecasts, and commercial models.
Support procurement activities including RFP documentation, tender evaluations, and contract management.
Track supplier performance, variations, and commercial risks.
Prepare cost-benefit analyses for infrastructure upgrades and new technology adoption. - Infrastructure & Technology Focus: Support the delivery of grid connection infrastructure (substations, cabling, and associated civil works).
Liaise with technical consultants and grid operators (e.g., ESB Networks, EirGrid) on infrastructure requirements and timelines.
Assist in the evaluation and implementation of digital technologies to optimise project management, data collection, and reporting.
Contribute to sustainability and innovation initiatives, including smart grid integration, battery storage, and renewable tech solutions. - Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments including Engineering, Finance, Legal, Development, and IT.
Maintain effective communication with contractors, consultants, technology vendors, and regulatory bodies.
Support preparation of management reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders. - Governance & Compliance: Ensure all commercial and project activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Maintain accurate project documentation and version control.
Support internal governance processes, audits, and data integrity reviews. - All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises.
- Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s objectives.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:
- Third level degree (min 2:1 classification) in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years’ experience in project coordination, infrastructure delivery, or commercial support (preferably in renewable energy, utilities, or construction).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data analysis tools or visualisation software is an advantage.
- Exposure to energy infrastructure (e.g., substations, grid connections, battery storage) advantageous.
- Interest or experience in energy technology, digital systems, or data management tools.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies (PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) beneficial but not essential.
