Bord na Mona, in partnership with ESB, has brought another 93MW of renewable energy to the electricity supply in Ireland with its latest wind farm in Co. Mayo entering full commercial operation.

Bord na Móna announces today, their collaboration with Coillte, to transform former peat production land into native woodland. 1500 hectares of bog no longer used for peat production will be initially targeted in Offaly, Laois, Westmeath, and Tipperary for plantation of 600,000 new trees.

Decarbonisation programme, exceptional items and investment costs amount to €91.4m, with Operating Profit (before exceptional items) at €41.3m

Minister Bruton toured some of the 1100-hectare site and received a briefing on Bord na Móna’s plans for renewable energy production and the new business projects that support the company’s decarbonisation programme.

Bord na Móna has awarded €42,500 to 14 community and voluntary organisations in the vicinity of Bruckana Wind Farm

€125,000 available in funding for local community organisations

Bord na Móna has submitted a planning application to An Bord Pleanála for the proposed 96MW Derryadd windfarm. The proposed development will be situated on cutaway peatlands on Derryadd, Derryaroge and Lough Bannow bogs located in South Co. Longford.
